In line with the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of increasing green cover, Jain (Deemed-to-be University) organised a “One Student One Tree” campaign apart from putting in place various green initiatives at its campuses.

Organised under the aegis of Human Networking Academy, JAIN, a plantation awareness programme with a call “Hey Mara, Neenaagu Amara” took place on 11 August, 2019 to spread awareness on the dwindling green cover in the city of Bengaluru besides explaining to the participants the importance of planting saplings. Mr. Tejasvi Surya, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, South Bengaluru, was the Chief Guest at the event and he lauded the efforts of the students. The programme, which was organised in association with the Forest Department, distributed nearly 7500 saplings to the visitors at the annual Lalbagh Flower Show.

Away from the city, a similar sapling plantation drive was organised in Anekal, on 4 August, 2019 by NSS (National Service Scheme) wing. More than 1200 saplings were planted along the by lanes of the taluk.
