The launch of Narada Silpasastra

Jain University Press launched Narada Silpasastra authored by Prof. RN Iyengar in Bengaluru this year. Narada Silpasastra, an ancient Sanskrit text on Architectural Civil Engineering, authored by Prof. RN Iyengar, along with his colleagues, Dr. KS Kannan and Dr. SY Wakankar is one of the fastest selling books in JU Press’ portfolio. The foreword for the book was written by Prof. Michel Danino.

The launch of Managing Performance

The second publication from Jain University Press in 2018 was Managing Performance, a book authored by Dr. CG Krishnadas Nair, Chancellor, JAIN. The book, which is a key resource for individuals and organisations to achieve excellence in management, was launched on August 11.

The book was released by Mr. Bhaskar Bhat, Managing Director, Titan Co. Ltd. While addressing the gathering, he said, “Many of us think that innovation and technology are the same but they are not. Technology is using knowledge or resources to solve problems or invent something useful. Innovation is about the sustainability of a process that is done in a very different way. Curiosity and creativity should be encouraged in children, in students.”

Short Story Contest

Jain University Press announced a short story writing contest titled, “A Wriggly Wiggly Story” for students studying at Jain Schools across the country. The contest aims to encourage young writers in showcasing their writing prowess and was open to students studying in Standard II to Standard X. The best entries will feature in a collection of stories to be published by JU Press, besides winning trophies and cash prizes.

Bangalore Book Fest 2018

Jain University Press took part in Bangalore Book Festival 2018, which was held at Palace Grounds from October 15-21, 2018. The Press, which pitched itself with entry into new genres at the book fair, generated great interest among visitors and authors.
